Brewed for the Pink Boots Society’s national brew day, this refreshing Pre-Prohibition Lager features the floral aroma of Mt. Hood hops complemented by the addition of fresh, local honey. A pronounced bitterness is balanced by a pleasant grainy sweetness in the finish, making this an easy drinking lager perfect for spring.
This beer is named in “honor” of Carrie Nation, AKA the Saloon Smasher, a radical member of the Temperance movement, which ultimately led to Prohibition. She spent a decade of her life terrorizing saloons by smashing them with hatchets in an effort to destroy their alcohol and shut them down. This lager is a style you would have seen at these saloons during her reign of “hatchetation”.
